Amy Adams Poised to Star Alongside Clint Eastwood in ‘Trouble with the Curve’

Back in October we heard news Clint Eastwood may not be quite ready to hang up his acting hat even though following 2008’s Gran Torino he said, “That will probably do it for me as far as acting is concerned… You don’t want to be like a fighter who stays too long in the ring until you’re not performing at your best.” Well, like a fighter, Eastwood still has a little George Foreman left in him.

Eastwood is set to star as a veteran baseball scout who takes his daughter on the road with him to eye a hot prospect in Trouble with the Curve, a film expected to mark the directorial debut of his longtime Malpaso producing partner, Robert Lorenz. And today Variety reports Amy Adams is set to take on the role as the daughter.

The site reports it was down to her and Sandra Bullock with Bullock’s slate currently too full to take the part, but it would appear Adams needs to do a little shuffling of her own to take on the role as well.

Adams will next be seen in The Muppets and she’ll also be seen in such upcoming films as On the Road for Walter Salles, The Master for Paul Thomas Anderson and she will be seen as Lois Lane in Zack Snyder’s Superman feature Man of Steel.

As for Eastwood, this film should fill in the gap that opened up when Beyonce Knowles got pregnant. Knowles was expected to take the lead role in Eastwood’s remake of A Star is Born, which then had to be pushed back.
