‘The Muppets’ Were on WWE Raw’s Halloween Episode

A few days ago The Hollywood Reporter revealed that many of the old Muppets performers were upset over the new The Muppets film and dissatisfied with the approach screenwriters Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller took while handling the iconic puppets. One commented saying, “They’re looking at the script on a joke-by-joke basis, rather than as a construction of character and story.”

Another comments on Fozzie’s fart shoes saying, “We wouldn’t do that; it’s too cheap… It may not seem like much in this world of [Judd] Apatow humor, but the characters don’t go to that place.”

Frank Oz, the original voice of Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal and others, even told Metro.co.uk, “I wasn’t happy with the script… I don’t think they respected the characters.”

Those comments make me wonder what those same detractors think about Kermit, Miss Piggy, Dr. Bunsen and Beaker, Stadler and Waldorf and Gonzo showing up on WWE’s Monday Night Raw as the gang has not only gotten back together, but Disney apparently thinks the pro wrestling crowd had been under-appreciated by the film’s parody-filled marketing to this point.

Personally, I think it’s rather funny. See what you think directly below.
