The New ‘Rabbit Hole’ Poster is Excellent

Lionsgate sent over this brand new poster for John Cameron Mitchell’s Rabbit Hole starring Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart and it is quite simply excellent, to the point I don’t think I even need to say why. You can pick up on so much simply by looking at the fractured images and the knowledge the film follows the course of a couple dealing with the recent death of their young son.

I saw the movie at the Toronto International Film Festival and was very impressed with Nicole Kidman’s performance and Dianne Wiest is equally excellent and I expect both will get Oscar nominations and as more people see Rabbit Hole Kidman’s name may creep closer to the top of those Oscar prediction charts. Here’s a snippet from my review:

Rabbit Hole treats its characters and audience as human beings. There’s an understanding of the way people talk and the way people argue. People don’t always have the answer and they don’t always have to place the blame, but we do make assumptions and jump to conclusions when we are at our worst and are just as easily able to ask for and accept forgiveness, sometimes without even saying so. This film accomplishes all of that and for that it deserves respect and for Kidman and Wiest’s performances it deserves acclaim.

Rabbit Hole hits limited theaters on December 17. The poster is directly below and you can get a slightly larger look in the RopeofSilicon gallery right here.
