Moviefone apparently found the above image of Karl Urban rehearsing for his role in Dredd at 2000adOnline.com, but I clicked over there and the picture wasn’t showing up for me, but here it is nonetheless.
This is your first look at Karl Urban as Judge Dredd in the Pete Travis-directed feature adaptation of writer John Wagner and artist Carlos Ezquerra’s British science fiction anthology “2000 AD”.
The story is said to center on Dredd (Urban), an American law enforcement officer in a violent city of the future where uniformed Judges combine the powers of police, judge, jury and executioner. Dredd and his fellow Judges are empowered to arrest, sentence and even execute criminals on the spot. Lionsgate is expected to release the film in 2012.
