Trailer for Alex Gibney’s Eliot Spitzer Doc, ‘Client 9,’ Debuts

So apparently today is trailer day following the already released trailers for The King’s Speech and Carlos as Apple has now debuted the trailer for the Eliot Spitzer documentary Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer.

Unfortunately while in Toronto I was unable to fit any documentaries into my schedule, and while I heard much more about Errol Morris’s Tabloid than I did Alex Gibney’s Client 9, I am still very excited to see what this film has in store.

Variety‘s John Anderson says it “plays like a political thriller and that aspect — along with the sex, politics, warped humanity and faint aroma of redemption — should help the Magnolia release do healthy arthouse biz.” Over at The Hollywood Reporter Kirk Honeycutt says it’s an “utterly fascinating look at many things you didn’t know about the Eliot Spitzer scandal,” and IndieWire‘s Anne Thompson says the movie “is full of surprises.”

You can check out the trailer directly below and look for the film to hit theaters on November 5.
