I saw The Runaways just yesterday and I’m not going to say anything until I publish my review when it hits theaters, which will be on March 19 when it hits ten cities in a limited opener before expanding nationwide on April 9. However, you can judge one aspect of the film for yourself right now as Dakota Fanning’s version of “Cherry Bomb” is now online for you to listen to.
I have included both her version and the original Runaways version featuring Cherie Currie on lead vocals just below (thanks to Vulture) for the heads up. Strangely enough I have pretty much the same opinion as the Vulture crew as I had a problem with the way Fanning says “Mo-om,” but overall I don’t think she does a decent job… sort of…
