First Official Still from ‘Twilight: Eclipse’

I know regular readers get upset when I post items related to the Twilight universe so I do my best to ensure they are posts that don’t revolve around rumors or mild casting tidbits. However, when the first official still from the film is released and it’s not a scan from a magazine or a digital camera picture of a person holding a magazine that has the first official image from the film I think that warrants a post. So, with that said, here is the first official still from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse the third installment in the franchise, which wrapped principal photography this past October and will hit theaters on June 30, 2010.

Personally I am curious to see how this one turns out primarily considering David Slade of 30 Days of Night and Hard Candy is directing. His first two films were legitimate and this is obviously him taking a paycheck because it is such a wildly different direction and not in an experimental way. To be honest it’s a truly baffling career decision, but I have to believe there is a reason he did it other than money… I just have to…

Either way, if you would like to see a slightly larger and uncropped version of the image above click here. The one thing, though, is why is he in the sunlight and not sparkling? Perhaps a Twilighter can answer me that in the comments.

In the third film, Bella (Kristen Stewart) once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward (Robert Pattinson) and her friendship with Jacob (Taylor Lautner) – knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death.
