The first official images of Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan in Columbia Pictures’ remake The Karate Kid have just arrived and you can’t get any kind of real impression of the film, but I must admit Jaden is certainly pulling off the high kick.
The film is a bit of a departure from the original, but still maintains the general story as it centers on a bullied youth (Smith) who learns to stand up for himself with the help of an eccentric mentor (Chan). Taraji P. Henson stars as Smith’s mother and Pink Panther 2 helmer Harald Zwart is directing. The film hits theaters on June 11.
