‘Paranormal Activity’ Expanding Further and With More Showings

Anyway, marketing silliness aside, there is good news for those of you that haven’t been able to see the stellar supernatural thriller due to its limited release and midnight-only showings. The Los Angeles Times reports the following:

Now that virtually every midnight show has sold out for the last two weekends, Paramount plans to move the film outside of the witching hour starting Friday and schedule show times throughout the day. It is also expanding “Paranormal” to 10 more markets [on October 9th], bringing the total to more than 40.

Obviously, this was a planned effort and one that has worked out well and for good reason… Paranormal Activity is a fantastic and frightening film.

Playing in 33 theaters this past weekend it averaged $16,000 at each and was second only to the Coen brothers’ A Serious Man when it comes to per theater averages.

You can read my Paranormal Activity review right here, but suffice to say I suggest you do your best to check it out, especially if you love a good chiller.
