Mila Kunis to Play Portman’s Nemesis in Aronofsky’s ‘Black Swan’

This past weekend at Comic Con, Mila Kunis was on hand to promote both The Book of Eli as well as the Mike Judge comedy Extract. The cute and personable one-time “That ’70s Show” actress has started to find her groove after an impressive showing in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and an upcoming slate of films that has her working opposite Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman and Jason Bateman not to forget her participation in the ensemble Steve Carell and Tina Fey comedy Date Night. Now she is about to add another big name feature to that list as The Hollywood Reporter brings word Darren Aronofsky has cast her as Natalie Portman’s nemesis in Black Swan.

Kunis is in discussions to star opposite Portman in the supernatural drama centering on a talented ballerina (Portman) in the New York City Ballet who is tormented by a rival who might or might not be a figment of the dancer’s imagination. Kunis would play the rival, Lilly, with strange occurrences between the two increasing as they prepare for a big performance.

Black Swan is set to begin shooting in the fall in New York. While the film does not have an official distributor, The Hollywood Reporter says Fox Searchligh could come on board as it moves into production.

Personally I wasn’t a big fan of Kunis on “That ’70s Show” but her turn in Sarah Marshall was pretty much the only thing about the film I really enjoyed. Not only was she beautiful, she actually managed to show far more talent than I had seen in any of her other performances. She had a bit of a misstep following that with Max Payne, but thing appear to really be on track.
