Justin Long has done very well for himself from television (“Ed”), commercials (Apple) and film. According to IMDB he will have a whopping ten films coming out in 2009 and only one in 2010, but it looks like we can add one more to the future slate of Mr. Long as Variety reports he will be starring alongside Drew Barrymore in the rom-com Going the Distance for New Line.
Barrymore and Long recently starred in He’s Just Not That Into You (on DVD June 2), but I don’t believe the two ever shared any onscreen time together, but in Going the Distance, what is described as an observational comedy, the two will star as a young couple navigating their way through the perils of a long distance relationship. They will quickly discover that “going the distance” might cost them everything they have, including one another.
As with HJNTIY, this one too will be distributed by New Line with American Teen director Nanette Burstein at the helm. No word on who wrote the script or when they plan to start production.
