Wait a Sec, Monica Potter’s in ‘The Last House on the Left’

I add movies to the database almost daily as well as cast members to those movies and unless it is a major film I tend to pretty much forget everything I do just moments after I do it. That’s why when I checked out the latest clip from Rogue’s The Last House on the Left it surprised me to find Monica Potter as part of the cast even though in March of 2008 I even included her name in a casting article.

I only mention this because I still remember back around the time Con Air was released and Potter’s name was mentioned as an up-and-coming actress. Perhaps it was only because of her looks, but either way she was someone people were talking about. Then, not a whole lot happened. She had a part in Patch Adams in 1998 and then with Along Came a Spider in 2001 the buzz had seemed to die completely. Next I see her popping up in the first Saw and then a short while later she has a role in “Boston Legal”.

I actually enjoyed her on “Boston Legal”, but when she left the show after the first 21 episodes my suspicions were correct. She had been pregnant. She took a couple of years off, starred in a TV movie and then had a role in what looked like the most offensive movie of 2008, Lower Learning, and now here she is in The Last House on the Left.

I don’t say all of this because I am some kind of die-hard Monica Potter fan, I just have a feeling there is an interesting story beyond her breakout in 1997 as Tricia Poe and the fact she is starring in a horror remake 12 years later with a smattering of odd films along the way.

Oh well, here is a new clip from Last House on the Left courtesy of MySpace (do people still use that site?).
