Variety is reporting Martin Campbell’s Edge of Darkness has been picked up for domestic distribution by Warner Bros.
The film, which is based on the BBC mini-series of the same name, is centered on a veteran homicide detective for the Boston Police Department whose only child is murdered on the steps of his home. Starring in the picture is Mel Gibson, Ray Winstone, Danny Huston, Bojana Novakovic and Shawn Roberts.
There is still no release date, but I would assume we are looking at a winter release here. The film shot on location in Boston and elsewhere in Massachusetts, completed lensing in November and is in post production.
