UPDATE: Apparently they are going to re-release it in January. Bargle, I am so annoyed.
It appears Warner Bros. won’t be going after the box-office crown after all, at least not yet, as SuperheroHype reports the plan to re-release The Dark Knight in theaters in January won’t be happening. This means any of you still aching to see Batman face off against the Joker in theaters one last time better hope one of the remaining 305 theaters still playing the flick are within driving distance. However, with the DVD and Blu-ray hitting store shelves one week from today I am sure the majority of you won’t be too worried as I am sure you will be burning a hole in your discs as you throw it on 24 hour repeat.
In other Dark Knight news the Dark Campaign has begun, a fan run campaign proclaiming the following in their online Mission Statement:
First, I think many already agree that the Dark Knight is one of the best pictures of the year. An unparalleled and extraordinary achievement of quality epic film making that only happens on rare occasions when lightning strikes. Audiences and critics alike were blown away by the riveting drama, the compelling performances, the amazing cinematography, and the startling way the film redefined cinematic storytelling in an epic crime drama about justice, society, and the nature of evil. Films like this only come along once in a lifetime…
I don’t think the campaign will help much, but it’s a cute idea. Here is the video the site made to promote their cause. You can get more details over here.
