Latest MPAA Ratings: #100

The MPAA rating system is a curious thing. Take Made of Honor for example, last week the Sony Pictures release was awarded an R-rating for “some sex-related material”, but with the announcement we were told Sony planned to appeal the judgment. Now, we get an update and it is rated PG-13 for “sexual content and language”. This means that the R-rated version had no “language” in it and “sex-related material” turned into “sexual content”. What exactly changed I wonder? My guess is nothing and people that go to this film are going to see a film that perhaps should have been rated-R for a bunch of sex jokes passed for PG-13 because innuendo is no referred to as “content” and not “material”. What a world.
