I have been reviewing each episode of HBO’s “John Adams” mini-series and outside of a few complaints I can say I have enjoyed it to this point. However, I do hope the final three episodes, of which I have yet to see, crank it up a notch. I don’t quite know exactly what that means, but I’ll know it if I see it.
The mini-series focuses on one of America’s most important founding fathers, John Adams played by Paul Giamatti. It begins with the Boston Massacre and will move all the way up until Adams’ final days. The mini-series features such talent as Giamatti, Laura Linney, Tom Wilkinson, Danny Huston, David Morse, Rufus Sewell and Stephen Dillane. The acting prowess is there and I think as a complete series without any interruption it will be quite impressive, and that is exactly what you will get on June 10th.
HBO and Warner Home Video have yet to announce any specific special features, but the release date of June 10th has been confirmed for the release of the complete “John Adams” mini-series. As of now I only know the four-disc set will include a documentary, a behind-the-scenes featurette and production notes.
I have included the box art below, but you can click here for more details and larger looks at the art.
