Alison Lohman Replaces Ellen Page in Raimi’s ‘Hell’

The effects of the writers’ strike gave Sam Raimi’s upcoming horror flick a little nudge as it forced a scheduling conflict with previous star Ellen Page and she subsequently had to drop out only to be replaced by 28-year-old cutie Alison Lohman.

The flick is Drag Me to Hell and Lohman will star as the unwitting recipient of a supernatural curse. You mean, all Grudge-like? Wow, original!

Shooting begins in Los Angeles on March 31st. Raimi penned the screenplay with his brother Ivan.

If you think this means you won’t get Miss Page in a thriller think again. She begins filming the psychological thriller Peacock with Cillian Murphy next and then will begin work on Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut Whip It.

Peacock takes place in Peacock, Nebraska where Murphy’s character, a split personality, fools the town into believing his two alter egos are man and wife. Page’s character holds the key to his past and sparks a battle between the personalities.
