Danish director, Lone Scherfig, has cast Alfred Molina, Orlando Bloom and Berlin Silver Bear winner Sally Hawkins in her upcoming film An Education. The three join Oscar winner Emma Thompson, Peter Sarsgaard, Carey Mulligan, Rosamund Pike and Olivia Williams in the massive ensemble cast of talented actors.
The pic was penned by Nick Hornby and has been developed from an early stage with BBC Films. The story is based on a piece of memoir by the celebrated British journalist Lynn Barber, and is billed as a teenage girl’s coming-of-age drama set in early 1960s London. Plot details the story of a 17-year-old girl whose suburban life is about to be blown apart by the utterly unsuitable arrival of a 30-something playboy.
The film will shoot in London in March and April.
