It was a pretty ho-hum box office this weekend, the projected winner won and the top three came in as expected too. Look for a strong dip for Fool’s Gold next week as friends tell their friends “um, it’s okay” and opt for Definitely, Maybe instead.

1. Fool’s Gold
I’ve been underestimating the top slot all year long so I’m happy to finally be a little over. This movie will be on DVD in about six weeks – the rush to get into your pocketbook is on!

That’s a good looking pick, eh? It was pointed out to me the other day that Martin Lawrence has never been in a good comedy. Bad Boys was funny… but not a real deal comedy.

Hmm, that’s quite a dip. It looks like all the parents who really loved their kids took them the first weekend. That didn’t leave much left over for this week because not many kids could convince mom and dad to fork over $15 for a second time.

4. The Eye
I heard Alba on the Carolla show the other day, doing some mop up press. It was sort of sad. Having to say the same thing over and over (“It’s scary! I learned to sort of play the violin!”) must be soul sucking.

5. Juno
Hold up, .02 million caused me to miss out on being five for five? That’s just rude.

6. 27 Dresses
Oddly enough it looks like a dollar amount for Juno wasn’t posted. But we know I wasn’t too far off as I had it sixth. I’d tell you the actual dollar amount but I don’t have that spreadsheet on me. That’s the downfall of working all the time from multiple locations.

I would have been seven for seven. Seriously, is there any chance you people can find it in your heart to see 27 Dresses real quick? The actuals will be released Monday and I’d like to be right.

What a strange world we live in. Sly came out this week asking for some help on the whole Burma issue. That sad part is… he’s probably right. Our leaders tend to ignore everything that doesn’t involve oil.
