Recently Sylvester Stallone said he won’t be returning to the Rambo franchise and we already knew Rocky Balboa was the last time he was going to make a Rocky based movie. Outside of that, the only thing we have heard Stallone discuss, with regards to future projects, was his wish to do a Death Wish remake… Oh, and that Edgar Allen Poe film that never seemed to pan out with Robert Downey Jr., but I don’t think he was going to be starring in that, he just wrote and was going to direct.
Poe however, wasn’t going to be an action flick, and Sly just inked a deal with producers Danny Dimbort, Avi Lerner and Trevor Short of Nu Image/Millennium Films to direct and star in two action films. If you are at all like me, and enjoyed the recent Rambo and Rocky Balboa, this is great news. Also, if like me, you read Stallone’s thoughts on a Death Wish remake, you are hoping that flick is one of the two.
Word out of The Hollywood Reporter piece is that several scripts are being considered, but there are no specifics.
