I never heard that Naomi Campbell was going to have a role in Spike Lee’s World War II film Miracle at St. Anna, but apparently that works out for the better as BlackFilm is reporting that the ever so gorgeous Kerry Washington is replacing Campbell in the flick due to “scheduling conflicts”. I honestly can’ imagine Naomi Campbell being able to come close to performing as well as Kerry Washington so this is nothing but good news for the Spike Lee feature I am certainly looking forward to.
Miracle at St. Anna stars Derek Luke, Michael Ealy, James Gandolfini, Omar Benson Miller, Laz Alonso and John Leguizamo and chronicles the story of four black American soldiers who are members of the US Army as part of the all-black 92nd “Buffalo Soldier†Division stationed in Tuscany, Italy during World War II.
Word is that Michael K. Williams who had a small role in Gone Baby Gone is also joining the production.
We just recently added some new pics from the film which you can see here as it is set to hit theaters later this year.
