Batman is No Match for Polluted Chinese Water

I am sure die hard fans of the Batman movie franchise knew that The Dark Knight had moved to Hong Kong to film some scenes, but for those of you that didn’t, don’t worry, it ain’t happening. CNN is reporting that the water in Hong Kong is so bad the scene that was going to be shot has been rewritten to take place inside a building.

CNN reports the news via the South China Morning post, which is quoted saying, “The plan was for Batman to be seen jumping into the water and then climbing up some bamboo, or something similar… But when they checked a water sample, they found all sorts of things; salmonella and tuberculosis, so it was canceled. Now the action will cut to inside a building.”

Yeah, you read that right, TUBERCULOSIS! What is happening to our world? Bob Costas is on Sunday Night Football in the dark to prove a point that we need to use less energy, Matt Lauer is at the Arctic Circle, Al Roker is in the jungle and there is salmonella and tuberculosis in the water in Hong Kong. Someone please fix something.

CNN says that health worries due to pollution has increasingly become a concern in Hong Kong. According to the think tank Civic Exchange, more than 225,000 vessels arrive annually in Hong Kong’s port, one of the world’s busiest. Just imagine if someone accidentally fell in that water.

Nevertheless, the scene in which Batman was to drop from a plane into the harbor has been axed and now the action will be sent into a building where there is no TB infected water… hopefully.
