Hey now, what’s this? Paramount Vantage is going to release a comedy? You mean they aren’t trying to lock down all films filled with melancholy and depression? Well good on yah, however I am not sure if this is going to be the one to start with.
The Hollywood Reporter tells us that Jeremy Piven, Ving Rhames and David Koechner are set to star in The Goods: The Don Ready Story for director Neal Brennan over at the Vantage. The comedy was written by Rick Stempson and Andy Stock and is the first comedy greenlit under Paramount Vantage’s deal with Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez Prods.
The story centers on a used car liquidator who is hired to save a struggling dealership over the Fourth of July.
Production will begin in December in Los Angeles.
