In an interview with MovieWeb David Duchovny has gone so far as to say that X-Files 2 will begin filming this December.
What? Really? I can only assume such a thing can be true if the studios are really that worried about all this strike business. Hell, I may have to ask every interviewee from this point forward if all of their long gestating projects are going to get underway if this turns out to be true.
When posed the question about the sequel to the 1998 film Duchovny responded saying:
It’s at… the script is written and as far as I know we’re all trying to shoot in December at some point. We would all love it if we could keep it a secret and just give everybody a fresh experience of not knowing what the movie’s about. I know if I was a fan of the show I would kind of be excited to be surprised.
Well, looks like Mulder and Scully will be back on the job. In all truthfulness I am surprised it took this long considering all the crap that is out there. It has been long known that both Duchovny and Gillian Anderson were game for a sequel and the franchise already has a rather large built in audience that is sure to be interested.
Who knows, it could be good. Lord knows they took long enough to get moving on it.
