Bloody-Disgusting got the early word from Sony Screen Gems on the casting and synopsis for the upcoming remake of the classic ’80s horror Prom Night. The original film boasted a young Jamie Lee Curtis on her way to becoming known as the Scream Queen and the new film is set to star a bunch of new teen stars including Brittany Snow, Jessica Stroup, Idris Elba, Johnathon Schaech, Dana Davis, Scott Porter, Collins Pennie and Kelly Blatz.
Prom Night is already set for a February 1, 2008 release and below is the official synopsis for the feature as given by B-D:
Donna’s senior prom is supposed to be the best night of her life, one of magic, beauty, and love. Surrounded by her best friends, she should be safe from the horrors of her past. But when the night turns from magic to murder there is only one man who could be responsible…the man she thought was gone forever. Now, Donna and her friends must find a way to escape the sadistic rampage of an obsessed killer, and survive their Prom Night.
