Variety has three throwaway articles but I didn’t want to ignore them completely so I felt a merger was in order. Plus, none of these guys are exactly Scorsese.
First off we learn that Gabriele Muccino will direct Man and Wife for Universal Pictures. The film is a love story which stresses an immigrant’s love for the U.S. Muccino last directed Will Smith in The Pursuit of Happyness.
Next we learn that Wild Hogs director, Walt Becker, is set to helm Runt for Dimension Films. The pic is described as a high-concept comedy about twin brothers who are complete opposites. Very high concept I am sure.
Finally we learn that Erik White will direct Abdul Williams’ script of Welfare Queen, an urban comedy revolving around an 18-year-old living in the projects who must keep his winning lottery ticket a secret over a three day weekend.
