Variety is reporting that Francis Ford Coppola is heading back to the director’s chair yet again as he will produce and helm the Argentine family saga Tetro with Matt Dillon set to star.
Coppola penned the screenplay just as he did with his latest film Youth Without Youth which stars Tim Roth, Alexandra Maria Lara and Bruno Ganz. Coppola financed the film using funds from his winery business and will do the same with Tetro, which will be shot in the same kind of production style and budget range. Youth Without Youth was Coppola’s first film in ten years and is expected to hit theaters in the second half of 2007.
Tetro revolves around an artistic immigrant family marred by fierce rivalries, handed down through several generations. Filming is expected to begin in Buenos Aires late this year.
