Swordfish is a guilty pleasure of mine and I don’t particularly mind Gone in Sixty Seconds but I think it works best as a movie you might catch on one of the Turner channels occasionally. I mention these films because they are director Dominic Sena‘s last two films, the most recent, Swordfish, was back in 2001. Well, Sena is back and he has Kate Beckinsale with him for a film called Whiteout. One thing to say is that he certainly gets some nice women for his flicks… Jolie, Berry and now Beckinsale.
Whiteout is described in Production Weekly as a frigid thriller following U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko (Beckinsale) as she uncovers the first murder ever in the Antarctic just as the sun is about to set for six months. She must catch the killer before he leaves the ice or be stuck there with him in the dark for six months.
One question: If someone is killed in the Antarctic who the hell knows about it? Oh well. The script was penned by Erich and Jon Hoeber and is based on a series of graphic novels by Greg Rucka. Filming is expected to begin mid-March in Montreal and Manitoba.
For what it’s worth, check out a sassy little pic of Beckinsale below, because I love you.
