The Screen Actors Guild has made available their Motion Picture and Television nominees for the 13th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® for outstanding performances in 2006 in five film and eight primetime television categories. The nominations were announced this morning by Sandra Oh and Elijah Wood in Los Angeles at the Pacific Design Center’s Silver Screen Theater in West Hollywood.
With the nominations comes a double-dip for Babel in the Supporting Actress category as both Adriana Barraza and Rinko Kikuchi picked up noms as did Babel for Ensemble Cast. Babel tied with Dreamgirls and Little Miss Sunshine for most nominations with three. Sunshine managed to opposite spectrum nominations awarding 72-year-old Alan Arkin and 10-year-old Abigail Breslin with nominations as well as a nom for Ensemble Cast. If you were wondering Breslin is not the youngest ever to be nominated as Dakota Fanning was nominated for an Actor back in 2002 for her performance in I Am Sam, she was 7-years-old at the time of the nomination.
Leonardo DiCaprio also did another bit of double-dipping with a Supporting nomination for his role in The Departed and a Lead Actor nom for his worthy performance in Blood Diamond.
