McKay Talks Nudity, Language and Ferrell’s ‘Step Brother’

SuicideGirls had a chance to talk with Talladega Nights director Adam McKay as he was out promoting the DVD release of his latest film and had a chance to talk to him about his upcoming movie Step Brothers starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. While the film is still in the scripting stage it is already set to begin filming in July 2007 and he has plenty to say about the state of things:

Daniel Robert Epstein: You have yet to direct an R-rated film, what rating
will Step Brothers have?

Adam McKay: Step Brothers will be R rated. We’re not in any way censoring
ourselves on this one. We’re not playing the PG-13 game. We’re not stopping
language or nudity. Already there are a couple jokes that have nudity and
just 25 pages into it we’ve already said fuck about seven times.

Daniel Robert Epstein: When do you start Step Brothers?

Adam McKay: We’ve finished the outline. We’re about 25 pages into the
script. We’re slotted to start shooting in July, not too far off. Two people
will be playing Will and John’s parents but who we don’t know who yet.

Thanks to Daniel Robert Epstein for sending in the scoop, and you can read the complete interview here.
