Variety is reporting that the cast of Evan Almighty has just added a couple of gems as Lauren Graham and John Goodman will star in the Bruce Almighty “sequel” with Steve Carell for Tom Shadyac and Universal Pictures.
Filming just got underway and Graham has been cast to play Carell’s wife, Goodman a congressman who mentors Carell’s character. Pic also stars Morgan Freeman as God.
The script centers on Carell’s Evan Baxter anchorman character, who babbled on air in the original Bruce. Evan has become a politician in the sequel and ends up getting an audience with God, who instructs him to build an ark to prepare for a massive flood.
The pic is currently eyeing a June 29, 2007 release.
