Once a great lawyer, Cooper used to be a golden boy at an important downtown law firm, but when he lost a case he should not have taken on, Cooper began a long, slow descent into career and personal failure. A functioning alcoholic with a cynical view of the world, Cooper is nonetheless touched by his unlikely protÃ©gÃ©’s enthusiasm and idealism and reminded of the best part of himself–the part that got lost along the way.
