Back in March it was announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Ryan Reynolds were set to star in Ride Along for director Roger Kumble. The film was described as centering around The Rock as a tough cop who tries to halt a budding romance between his sister and a fellow schoolteacher. Now, Variety is reporting another story stating that Touchstone Pictures has picked up the action-comedy script Blowback from scribe Sheldon Turner as a starring vehicle for the two actors.
The story details on the film are being kept under wraps, but word is that it will be a modern day Lethal Weapon as the two starring as cop buddies out to stop the baddies while providing laughs along the way.
Tapestry Films’ Andrew Panay, Peter Abrams and Robert Levy will produce with Reynolds on as an executive producer.
