Rush Joining Spielberg’s Munich Affair?

With Aussie actor Eric Bana already attached to Steven Spielberg‘s yet-to-be-titled 1972 Munich Olympics movie it seems Moviehole.net has nabbed word of the next actor from down under to join the cast.

The bearded one has roped in Geoffrey Rush – in addition to Melbourne’e Eric Bana, who’s playing the lead – for a role in his long-in gestation project based around the momentous events of the 1972 Munich Olympics.

Rush tells the Metro lift-out he’ll play a MOSSAD case officer in the still-untitled project.

The actor says Tony Kushner’s script is “meaty” and that his part is “influential”.

The film is a chronicle of the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany, where Israeli athletes were kidnapped by a group of Palestinian militants. Ultimately, 11 Israelis lost their lives in the tragedy.
