Talent and beauty are set to collide as Edward Norton and Paul Giamatti (obviously the talent in my book) will be joined by Jessica Biel (the beauty in this case), oh yeah, and Rufus Sewell in The Illusionist for Neil Burger.
The film will begin principal photography on April 4th in Prague as the story follows a magician (Norton) in turn-of-the-century Vienna who falls in love with Princess Sophie (Biel), a woman well above his social standing. When she becomes engaged to Crown Prince Leopold (Sewell), the magician uses his dark arts to win her back and undermine the stability of the royal house of Vienna.
The Hollywood Reporter goes on to say that Biel landed the female lead after actively chasing the role after an arduous casting process including several screen tests. “She has been through the wringer,” producer Catherine Schulman told The Hollywood Reporter.
