‘Star Wars’ in 3-D!

I do not think of George Lucas as a man who would go and start a rumor like this if it weren’t true, and if it is Lord help us, I may become a Star Wars geek after all.

The Hollywood Reporter has up an article saying that he is planning to remaster all of the “Star Wars” films for rerelease in 3-D!!!

The article goes on to say that while he has not commit to an exact schedule for the films, that he would like to have the first film ready for the 30th anniversary of the original Star Wars movie in 2007 and that he would then rerelease one Star Wars film per year in 3-D.

3-D may become a trend as Peter Jackson has reportedly built a 3-D master suite in his production offices in New Zealand, could there be a King Kong 3-D on the way?

Lucas also featured the first six minutes of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith at ShowWest and described the film “as a Titanic in space. It’s a real tearjerker, and it will be received in a way that none of us can expect.”

Had enough?
