Something I never thought I would live to see was a feature film based on the life of Snoop Dogg that wasn’t centered around smoking weed and ‘Girls Gone Wild’ videos, but miracles can happen and Fox is proving that today.
Variety has announced that Fox has obtained the rights amidst a bidding war with Paramount and Columbia in a seven-figure deal for Snoop Dogg’s rights to his story of coaching the Rowland Heights Raiders, a team of 8- to 10-year-old boys in the Orange County Junior All-American Football League of which his son was the starting quarterback.
Snoop will also be toplining the pic which finds him coaching the team to a league championship and a 13-0 record.
The film is being developed as an inspirational comedy focused on an overworked hip-hop star who dedicates himself to coaching his son’s team. There is currently no working title for the film.
