DiCaprio Says ‘Alexander’ Pic is not in the Cards

It has been long talked about that the Baz Luhrmann version on the story of Alexander the Great has never been completely scrapped and after the debacle that turned out to be Oliver Stone‘s rendition it certainly wouldn’t be that hard to make a better version, but it may prove that it is ultimately impossible to give the complete story justice.

For the duration of specualtion Leonardo DiCaprio has alwasy been attached to the film as Alexander, but now he tells Moviehole.net that the film is not on his upcoming slate.

“Alexander The Great was one of those things where [Martin] Scorsese and I just share the same taste in similar things. We were both fascinated with Alexander The Great as well as Howard Hughes. They’re completely different time periods and different men, but similar dynamics, men that keep on reaching for their ultimate goal and stop at nothing until they achieve that. It just happened to be that this script and project was way further advanced in the development stage than the script that landed in our lap from Alexander and we wanted to go forth – we had an intention at one time of doing them both, but you don’t get everything you want all the time.”
