Adam Sandler’s somewhat autobiographical reminiscences of Chanukah will be released by Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment tomorrow, November 4. This year the holidays are taking on a whole new meaning. The Twelve Days of Christmas are no competition for Eight Crazy Nights. Adam Sandler (“Punch Drunk Love,” “Mr. Deeds,” “Anger Management,” “Happy Gilmore”) brings an unconventional holiday spirit to Chanukah and Christmas in his self-titled film available on special edition DVD and VHS on November 4. In addition, Comedy Central is sponsoring a contest to win a trip to Las Vegas; rules and details to be announced on November 4, 2003.
Having opened as the #1 animated comedy in November 2002, “Adam Sandler’s Eight Crazy Nights” promises the quintessential Sandler humor that ranges from subtle to the extreme and everything in between. Originally written for “Saturday Night Live,” Sandler’s new version of his beloved and nearly classic Chanukah song, specially written for the movie and coupled with his talent to voice multiple characters, makes for a kosher comedy this season.
In addition, the distinct and recognizable voices of Sandler-film staples Kevin Nealon (“All I Want For Christmas,” “Heartbreakers”), Rob Schneider (TV’s “Saturday Night Live,” “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo”) and Jon Lovitz (“The Wedding Singer,” “A League of Their Own”) complement Sandler’s side-splitting humor by adding their own unique styles to the animated characters in the holiday hit.
