Trying to Keep Things in “Order”

With the upcoming release of The Order this weekend some things you may not have known is that the original title of the film was The Sin Eater.

Yeah, I know. What kind of a name is that? Well, apparently 20th Century Fox felt the same way. Brian Helgeland, director of The Order, told SCI FI Wire that he changed the movie’s original name at the request of the Fox marketing department.

Helgeland told SCI-FI that Fox felt, “They’d end up spending most of their advertising space just trying to explain what a sin eater was.”

Yeah, what is it?

Either way the film has been delayed from its initial January release date, not because of production problems as was originally speculated but because, “They really felt that wasn’t a good time,” Helgeland said.

Summer is passed and now The Order will release on September 5, and just so you know the RopeofSilicon.com will not have a review as there is none scheduled. Maybe Fox hopes that the hunky Heath Ledger can draw in enough viewers to make Fox their money back on this one.
