Emily Ratajkowski and Spencer Boldman to Star in 1980s-Set Cruise

Emily Ratajkowski and Spencer Boldman will headline Cruise

AG Capital announced today that Emily Ratajkowski (We Are Your Friends, Gone Girl) and Spencer Boldman (21 Jump Street) will star in Cruise, which Robert Siegel (Big Fan, The Wrestler, The Founder) will direct from his original script.

Set during the summer of ’87, Cruise revolves around working-class Italian-American Gio Marchetti (Boldman), who has little on his mind but racing cars and chasing girls. That is, until he meets Jessica Weintraub (Ratajkowski), a nice Jewish girl from Long Island who goes to Gio’s neighborhood for some illicit thrills on the wrong side of the tracks. An affectionate look at the youth culture of a bygone era, Cruise celebrates the joys of muscle cars, Motorola pagers and endless summer nights.

Director Robert Siegel said, “I couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with Alex, Laura, and the rest of the team at AG Capital on ‘Cruise.’ They’ve been unbelievably supportive of my vision and are letting me make exactly the movie I want to make. In a world where everyone claims to be artist friendly, they really truly are.”

Alex Garcia and Laura Walker of AG Capital will produce the film alongside Holly Brown and Scott LaStaiti. UTA’s independent film group arranged financing for the film and represents domestic rights, with principal photography set to begin this fall in New York. Slated will be handling syndicate financing for a portion of AG Studios’ slate, with Cruise being the first project under this initiative.

Garcia commented, “Spencer and Emily are emerging talents and we are excited to see them bring Robert Siegel’s vision to life. ‘Cruise’ is a great addition to AG Capital’s line-up.”

Actress/model Emily Ratajkowski has had a breakout year since being cast by David Fincher in her first-ever film, Gone Girl. She then starred in two Warner Bros. films this summer: opposite Zac Efron in We Are Your Friends and in Entourage. She is currently a face of Marc Jacobs’ 2015 campaign.
