Interviews with Ed O’Neill and the Finding Dory filmmakers
At Disney’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, the fans were treated to a huge presentation around the upcoming sequel to Finding Nemo, entitled Finding Dory. This time around, an accident sparks Dory’s (Ellen DeGeneres) memory of her parents and sets her on a quest to learn about her past. She, along with Marlin (Albert Brooks) and Nemo (now being voiced by Hayden Rolence) set off on an adventure to find her family. The cast includes Ed O’Neill, Kaitlin Olson, Ty Burrell, Eugene Levy and Diane Keaton.
ComingSoon.net got a chance to chat with O’Neill, director Andrew Stanton, co-director Angus MacLane and producer Lindsey Collins backstage at the Expo and got more information about the film. O’Neill told us that he’s playing a disgruntled octopus named Hank and gave us as much info as he had. He said that it was a strange process, as he only got to read his lines and have reactions, but didn’t know much about the rest of the film.
Stanton, MacLane and Collins told us about the new cast, revealed the name of the eleven-year-old boy who is now voicing Nemo (the film takes place only a few months after Finding Nemo ends) and what it was like on stage at the expo. Finding Nemo won the 2003 Academy Award for best animated feature and was nominated for three others, including original screenplay, original score and sound editing. It’s the fifth highest-grossing animated film worldwide.
