Danny R. McBride is joining Will Ferrell in Universal Pictures’ big screen Land of the Lost adaptation, according to IGN.com.
McBride, whose credits include The Hearthbreak Kid, Hot Rod and the upcoming Drillbit Taylor, Pineapple Express and Tropic Thunder, said he will play the role of “Will” in the Brad Silberling-directed adventure-comedy.
Scheduled for a July 17, 2009 release, the film is based on the 1974-77 television series of the same name. It revolves around a disgraced paleontologist, his assistant and a macho tour guide who find themselves in a strange world inhabited by dinosaurs, monkey people and reptilian Sleestaks.
