Sundance: Magnolia Pictures Picks Up Results

The 2015 Sundance Film Festival hasn’t even officially begun and already the dance has begun to grab the hottest ticket movies with distributors making deals before movies have even premiered.

That happened yesterday with Jared Hess’ Don Verdean and now comes word that Magnolia Pictures has picked up Results, the new comedy from Andrew Bujalski, who returns to Sundance following 2013’s Computer Chess

Premiering in competition on Tuesday, January 27, this one stars Cobie Smulders and Guy Pearce as a pair of personal trainers whose lives are altered by a wealthy new client they take on. It co-stars Kevin Corrigan, Giovanni Ribisi, Anthony Michael Hall and Brooklyn Decker.

“We’ve been long time fans of Andrew Bujalski, one of the most distinctive American directors working today. We are incredibly excited to be handling ‘Results,’ especially with the stellar cast he’s assembled,” said Magnolia’s President Eamonn Bowles.

“Hey, thanks,” said director Andrew Bujalski.

“Magnolia Pictures is the perfect home for ‘Results,'” said Sam Slater and Paul Bernon of Burn Later Productions. “We are thrilled to be working together again after a wonderful partnership on our film ‘Drinking Buddies.’ Magnolia is a leading force in the world of filmmaking!”
