Three popular Jackie Chan and Seth Rogen martial arts movies are returning to Peacock soon. These movies were both critically and commercially successful when they were released between 2008 and 2016.
Kung Fu Panda 1, 2, and 3 are coming back to Peacock soon
The first three Kung Fu Panda movies will return to streaming on Peacock on August 1, 2026, via TV Guide. Some of the other movies releasing on the platform that day are Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Armageddon, Exodus: Gods and Kings, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and the Fifty Shades trilogy.
John Stevenson and Mark Osborne directed the first movie, with a script by Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger, who also wrote the screenplays for the next two movies.
However, Jennifer Yuh Nelson took over the directorial duties for the second movie and helmed the third one with Alessandro Carloni. Chan and Rogen voice Master Monkey and Master Mantis in these animated movies, respectively.
The star-filled voice cast also includes Jack Black as Po, Dustin Hoffman as Master Shifu, Ian McShane as Tai Lung, and Angelina Jolie as Master Tigress. As mentioned, the first movie did really well following its release.
It grossed over $632 million worldwide on a $130 million production budget. The second and third films followed suit, earning $655 million and $521 million at the global box office, respectively (via Box Office Mojo).
On Rotten Tomatoes, all three movies have approval ratings of over 80%. Rene Rodriguez of the Miami Herald gave the first movie a glowing review.
“The succinctly named Kung-Fu Panda delivers exactly what its title promises: Lots of kung-fu and lots of panda,” Rodriguez shared. “The movie has the same lean, to-the-point simplicity, which is refreshing in an era when so many films take needlessly bloated, talky routes into their story (for more on this, see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull).”
Notably, the first two movies received Oscar nominations for Best Animated Feature.
