Screen Gems has acquired Armageddagain: The Day Before Tomorrow, a spoof from director Robert Moniot, based on a screenplay he co-wrote with Travis Oates.
Variety says the studio has picked up North American rights to the film, which sends up disaster pics ranging from Armageddon and Independence Day to Transformers and The Bourne Ultimatum.
Noah Emmerich is producing through his Sandbox Entertainment and Moniot will also produce through his company, Big Picture Entertainment, along with Phil Goldfine through his Hollywood Media Bridge.
Production is expected to begin in August for release next year.
