Kevin Costner Seeks Swing Vote

Variety says that Kevin Costner’s next film will be indie election comedy Swing Vote, directed by Joshua Michael Stern.

The story revolves around a single father thrust into the national spotlight when the presidential election comes down to his vote. The movie begins filming in July.

Swing Vote will be the first project to come from Costner and producing partner Jim Wilson’s new company, Treehouse Films. An offshoot of their Tig Productions, Treehouse will produce film, television and online content produced fully by Costner. Tig will still exist for development of more studio-based projects.

Costner next stars in Mr. Brooks, opening June 1.
