Morris Chestnut has signed on to star in Screen Gems’ faith-themed drama Not Easily Broken, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Bill Duke will direct the film, which is based on a book by T.D. Jakes (Woman Thou Art Loosed). Brian Bird wrote the adaptation, which revolves around a couple whose strength and faith are tested after the wife is injured in a car crash and the husband becomes attracted to another woman.
Jakes and Curtis Wallace are producing. Chestnut is executive producing. Shooting is scheduled to begin June 11 in Los Angeles.
