Variety says that Rogue Pictures has picked up romantic comedy B.F.F. from husband-wife team Chad Gomez Creasey and Dara Resnik Creasey and has set it up with Beau Bauman and Jesse Israel.
B.F.F. — slang for “best friends forever” — centers on a nerdy guy and a popular girl who meet as freshmen and, over four years of high school, four proms and one funeral, become friends and eventually fall in love.
The Creaseys told the trade that the project’s in a similar vein to John Hughes’ teen comedies, with equal time given to the male and female points of view.
The Creaseys are currently staff writers on “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.” Chad also wrote and Dara co-produced Sydney White, starring Amanda Bynes and slated for a release this year from Morgan Creek via Universal.
