Phil Traill has signed on to direct the Sandra Bullock starrer All About Steve for Fox 2000.
The film, which will begin shooting in the summer, marks the feature directorial debut for Traill, whose short films Flipped and Dangle won Europe’s prestigious Cinema Jove award in 2002 and 2003, respectively. Dangle also won the 2003 Berlin International Film Festival’s Talent Movie of the Week Award.
Written by Kim Barker, the story centers on a brilliant crossword constructor who, after one short date, decides that a CNN cameraman is her true love. Because the cameraman’s job takes him hither and yon, she crisscrosses the country, turning up at media events as she tries to convince him they are perfect for each other. She fails in this objective but falls in with a band of misfits who appreciate her for who she is.
Bullock is producing through her Fortis Films production company. Mary McLaglen is executive producing alongside Underground Films’ Nicholas Osborne and Trevor Engelson.
